Tip of the Day!

Learning when to eat and why you eat is an important part of losing weight. Paul McKenna makes so much since to me! And boy do I fit the emotional eater! I know I won't post this blog and get it right the first time, but knowing the difference is maybe a beginning for me to stop and think before I put my hand up to my mouth next time.

A tip from Paul McKenna:

Here are a couple of pointers to help you make a clear distinction every time you feel hungry:

1. Emotional hunger is sudden and urgent; physical hunger is gradual and patient

2. Emotional hunger cannot be satisfied with food; physical hunger can

If you are eating and eating and never feeling satisfied, it’s because you don’t need food –you need to change your feelings.


Walked 6 out of 7 Days!

This past week I walked 6 out of 7 days. I walked anywhere from 25-30 minutes. I knocked a total of 130 minutes off of my journey. The 25-30 don't sound like much but it had me sweating! This week I'm going to shoot for 30-40 minutes. I haven't weighed yet, I may do that next Monday just to see. But I'm not going to let a number on a scale define me anymore, I'm going by how I feel. I'm aiming for "I can walk and no longer gasp for air". I'll aim further once I reach my first goal.

Well I have a destination to walk to!

I started walking on the old dusty treadmill yesterday. One thing different this time... I have a somewhere to walk to! I looked up how long it would take to "walk" from my house to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and broke it down into minutes. I have a lot of walking to do to reach my goal! But I do have 25 minutes of my walk knocked out! I do believe this will require a new pair of shoes.

Day 1 - Not off to a good start - but still hopeful

Hey! I had trouble sleeping again last night so once again I wake up in the 11th hour and rush. That's when I make horrible choices for my breakfast & lunch. I've got to start getting more rest. How's your day going so far?
